ELIZA ONG AGE BIRTHDAY REGISTRATION
Hannah Ong is a sufficiently unusual name that we can be confident that the registration of the death of someone with this name in the third quarter of 1857 in the relevant (Stow) district of Suffolk can be taken to be evidence of her death. Hannah must have died before 1861 since, at the 1861 census, Ambrose is shown as a widower living with three of the children (Daniel aged 9, Eliza aged 7 and George aged 4), along with a housekeeper called Catherin Pizzey. Maria Ong, christened 15 January 1854.Įliza gave birth, as an unmarried mother, to a son Harry William Ong in 1870: he was christened on 30 October in Felsham. Eliza Ong, whose birth was registered in the fourth quarter of 1853.Eleanor Ong, born around 1852 - no record has been found of her birth, but she is present in the household in the 1871 census as an 18-year-old.Daniel Ong, christened 28 December 1851.Donald Ong, christened 17 December 1850.Louisa Ong, christened 28 November 1847.Their children were christened in Felsham: This is strange, as Donald had already been christened by that date, whereas Daniel had not yet been born: perhaps the child listed as "Daniel" was in fact Donald. Ambrose is listed as a 33-year-old agricultural labourer, Hannah is 26, and with them are their first two children, Louisa, aged 3, and Daniel, aged 1. The census of 1851 finds the family living in Felsham.

On 03 October 1845, at the age of 21, she married Ambrose Ong at Felsham. At this time Hannah was living in Felsham with her parents and 3 other adults (John Scott, in his 40s, John Rawley, in his 80s, and Robert Baley, in his 30s).

The UK's first general census took place in 1841. She was the daughter of John and Mary Garrod. Hannah was christened on in Felsham, Suffolk, England. Hannah (Garrod) Ong was born in Suffolk, England.
